In discussing artistic or spiritual practice, people often speak in praise of spontaneity and describe a process of ‘getting out of the way’ of the creative process.

Reflecting on this, I feel that whilst these pieces of music were composed in real time, rather than through a gradual process of evolution and refinement, they are equally as valid as a means of artistic expression. In fact, I really enjoy listening to them; some nice ideas came out and they have the added excitement that you’re never quite sure whats going to happen next! I hope you enjoy them too.

All of these recordings are original and represented exactly as first conceived/performed except for number 10 which was based on a theme suggested by Lyndall Fitzgerald and which I’ve edited slightly in midi to smooth out the more obvious faults of timing.
